Nomenclature

"LARGE SIZE GUITARS" : refers to guitars that measure 15 3/4 to 16 1/8 inches across the widest part of the sound box

"MEDIUM SIZE GUITARS" : around 15 inches across the widest part of the sound box

"SMALL SIZE GUITARS" : between 14 and 14 1/2 inches across the widest part of the sound box

"PARLOR SIZE GUITARS" : between 13 and 13 1/2 inches across the widest part of the sound box

"OM-STYLE"' : refers to medium-size guitars with a long (25.5-inch) string length. The longer string length lends a bit more power and more individuation of the notes (i.e. "clarity"), making it an ideal design for finger-pickers.

"D-STYLE" : refers to full-size guitars with the familiar outline shape recalling the early Martin "Dreadnaught" guitars, ideal for bluegrass picking and accompaniment.

"SWEET SCALE" : refers to guitars with a short (25.0-inch) string length. The short string results in lower tension, more elastic-feeling strings, softer fingering, less percussiveness and greater. "blending" of the notes within a chord), some say, resulting in a sweeter, more lyrical sound.

"THIN JUMBO" : refers to a 16-inch wide lower bout instrument that with narrow height (4") sides which gives it the growl and power of a larger guitar with greater holding comfort, because your arm doesn't extend outwards as much as it does on a deep-bodied instrument. The closeness of the top to the back also appears to give the guitar a greater "punch" to it's sound, without the boominess of a deep soundbox.
